Estate Planning

What is a Will? What is a Trust? What is the difference between a Will and a Trust? Both instruments allow you to make the same decisions, but a Revocable Living Trust ensures privacy and it has power during life whereas a Will becomes effective at death. You will make the following decisions: who will get your stuff? Who will be the guardian of your minor children? And who will manage and distribute your assets upon incapacity or passing.

Estate Planning is an essential part of a comprehensive financial plan. If you don’t have a plan in place, then the State government will decide what happens to your assets.

Tax Planning and Asset Protection

Whether you have worked hard for many years to build your wealth, you are in the process of building your wealth now, or you have received a substantial inheritance, you want to employ tax minimization strategies and protect your wealth from liability. Business owners, doctors, and other medical practitioners are generally exposed to greater legal liability than the general public. While there is no way to immunize yourself from legal liabilities of various kinds, there are steps that you can take to both reduce your exposure to liability and minimize your tax burden.

Tax Return Preparation

We prepare unfiled tax returns from previous tax years, amended tax returns for previous tax years, S Corporation tax returns, partnership tax returns, trust tax returns, and estate tax returns. We prepare state tax returns for any state in the United States, in addition to federal tax returns. With our tax preparation services, you also receive some tax planning tips, including adjusting your tax withholdings and contributing to tax advantaged retirement accounts.

Tax Controversy

Have you received a letter saying that you owe the IRS? Did you receive a penalty that you don’t agree with? Many people are afraid of the IRS, but the truth is that the organization is full of really nice people (I’ve worked with many of them). Advocating as a tax payer before the IRS is all about truth, documentation, and connecting the dots. If you have received a letter, give us a call and we will deal with the IRS for you!
